Let’s Pull Together
Invasive Plant and Riverside Litter Removal Event

lets pull togetherLet's Pull Together to help reduce noxious weeds! Noxious weeds are non-native invasive species which threaten our ecosystem. They not only crowd out native plants, but they starve wildlife, use water and create allergens. Volunteers will remove the aggressive invader ivy from trees and the ground and pick up litter to prevent it from getting into our Willamette River. Please wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and sturdy shoes.

The Big Pickup
Community Cleanup Event

The Big Pickup is a community enhancement event that began as a partnership between the City, Republic Services, and Albany residents, working together to make a visible difference in our community’s appearance.

Procession of the Species Parade and Environmental Celebration

Celebrate Earth Day by participating in the Procession of the Species Parade! Think of your favorite animal, creepy crawly insect, wiggle-waggle fish, picturesque plant or most colorful bird. Create a costume and come join the celebration of each other and our natural world.

Great Willamette River Cleanup

Must bring your own boat to participate. You will be stepping in and out of the boat on uneven surfaces, so plan your footware accordingly (NO flipflops). Pack water, snacks and your lunch.
