More reopening and registration is on the way! We're tailoring our programs and plans to what our community needs the most to stay healthy, active, and supported. While we have reopening plans in place for summer camps, fitness center, and group exercise, we won't be opening everything at once. Please check for updates on social media and on our website. We can't wait to see you again soon!
Not ready to return? We understand! Our parks team is working hard to maintain our beautiful parks and trails that we hope you’ll explore safely. And, our recreation team is innovating new ways to deliver recreation programming virtually, so check back often for lots of fun activities or visit the Virtual Recreation Center for lots of great ways to Play, Learn, Connect, Grow, Explore and Relax all from the comfort of your home!

Adventure Tuesday
Join us each Tuesday for some amazing adventure ideas!
Albany Exploration Zone - Explore After-School (K-5th Grade)
Out-of-school time is a great opportunity for kids to discover new skills and interests! Explore After-School provides exciting STEM materials, caring staff, and small group sizes where kids can try new things, make friends, and develop skills in a safe environment. A typical day includes a game or icebreaker, a warm-up activity, and some free time with the materials, in addition to the “main event” – a hands-on engineering, coding, or construction activity. All materials are provided, and participants will be split into small groups by age whenever possible.
Albany Exploration Zone - STEM Saturdays
We provide the STEM supplies, staff, and activities – your kiddo just needs to arrive ready to have fun! These Saturday classes include an age-appropriate engineering, coding, or construction activity and an additional activity or free time. Because we understand that families have busy schedules, you can register for as many of these standalone activities as you like – choose just one or all seven!
Baton Twirling (Ages 6-11)
Baton twirling is an artistic and aerobic sport that combines dance and gymnastics while manipulating a baton. In this twirling class, your child will develop spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. Better yet, they’ll have fun and build connections with their peers!
Fairytale Dance (Ages 3-4 & 5-7)
There’s nothing more imaginative than fairytales! Experience the magic of ballet as your child stretches, leaps, and dances across the floor. Using props and interactive songs, this class will help improve balance and coordination while introducing your child to the fundamentals of ballet.
Hip Hoppers (Ages 3-5)
Hip hoppers will learn basic hip hop moves and fun dance routines set to hit music. This class will teach basic leaps, turns, and tumbling while helping develop an overall sense of rhythm. The steps are sure to make kids groove to the beat in their own jazzy style!
Kids Yoga (Ages 5-9)
Yoga is a great way for little ones to learn how to calm their minds, improve concentration, and move their bodies! Kids in this class will stretch their bodies in various ways, bend, twist, learn child's poses, yogi squats, and lunges. Most importantly they’ll have fun with their peers!
Splash Into Music (Ages 2-3)
This energetic movement and music class will keep your kiddo moving! Dancers will explore instruments and dance while they participate in activities that encourage collaboration and movement.
