The TLT Advisory Committee reviews actual transient lodging tax revenues and any implications to the allocation methodology described in Policy #F-12-11-002, Transient Lodging Tax Policy and may recommend changes to the allocation methodology or this policy to the City Council. Established by City Council policy.
Additional Grant Funds Available
The Transient Lodging Tax Advisory Committee has received an additional $50,000 from the supplemental City budget for the Collaborative Tourism Promotion Grant. Grant recipients can use the money for event start-up costs, new marketing campaigns or expanded advertising for a new element of an existing event, or travel expenses to submit proposals to host events, conferences, and trade shows.
Deadline for applications is October 25, 2022. Presentations will be made to the committee on November 10, 2022. The committee will award the grant money. Grant funds need to be spent and reimbursed prior to end of fiscal year (June 30, 2023).
Previous recipients include the Albany Scottish Festival and Highland Games, Albany Quilt Show, and Albany Historic Carousel and Museum I-5 billboard.
