Summer Marionette Troupe
In Summer 2011, we offer two events for students in grades 6 through 12.
Marionette-Making Workshop -- All materials are furnished at the free Marionette-Making workshop at the Main Library, 2450 14th Avenue SE, Albany, Oregon from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 15. Registration will open by telephone at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the workshop, and will be limited to the first 10 participants to register. Performance Troupe -- The performance troupe will rehearse and perform an original show at the Downtown Carnegie Library, 302 Ferry St. SW Rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m., and on Monday, August 22 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Performances will be at 10:30 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23. Puppeteers must attend both rehearsals and both performances. No previous theater or puppetry experience is required, and all marionettes and materials are furnished. To register, youth or parents may pick up a registration form at either Albany Public Library Young Adult area. Membership in the troupe is limited to the first 10 students to turn in a completed form before August 12.
Wonderkeepers Dramatic Storytelling Troupe
In past years Joyce Greiner of the Wonderkeepers has offered workshops in dramatic storytelling for students in grades 4 through 12. Currently this program is not active.
